TV Freeze

I just bought a 2008 Thor Dorado 29 ft motor home and found after watching a movie when i tried to turn my Jenson flat screen TV off it froze. The remote did not work, nor did the power switch on the side. I had to unplug the TV to reset and get the remote and power to turn off. What causes this. Thanks

Are you by chance running off an inverter?

Right off the top , I'd be after the park to check the voltage at the post; if you haven't already. Does the tv have any kind of surge protector ? The RV ?

Where would you put the surge protector so that no other 110 volt system would be affected.

You can get a surge protector that goes on the end of your shore cord. Shore cord to surge protector to Power Pedestal.

It is highly reccomended to have one.

I've got mine mounted ( a power bar w/surge ) on the entertainment center plug , which is an inverted circuit, works with the inverter or shore power.
Whole coach , hard wired unit, is on my Christmas list.
