I ran across this some time ago and I've found it useful particularly when traveling to find local stations by just inserting the local zip code.

I just use TV Guide. Give it your Zip Code or satellite provider and all done. They also have an App for the iPhone that works great.

Been "Zapping-2-it" for many moons now.. Just downloaded the listings for the next week.

now this don't work for OTA but if you use Sat TV you can google a couple of software packages,, all free

One is MSN XML-TV Scrapper as I recall.. This will let you download XML listings of all cable or Satellite channels you get.

Then I have a program called TV-Guide

This is an XML reader that reads the file Scrapper uses. it can also invoke Scrapper for me

If you need I can see if I can dig out the source URL's for you

NOTE: These are a bit of a job to set up the 1st time. and of course you need to re-set every time you move.. but once set up they are wonderful.. Plus I have still other software that uses the XML file)

With your new job of "honey-doos" I didn't think you would have time to watch TV.

Thanks though.

Roxie has to watch O'Reilly each night or she get cranky. And you know what happens when the dog is not happy...nobody is happy.

Here is another TV Listing site that I use most of the time. It is very customizable for area of the country, locals, specific channels displayed, etc.

Titan TV

WOW, I had no idea Titan was in the consumer side of the business. They supply primary program information to a large number of stations across the country that inturn feeds program information into the new TV's program guides (and probably TV Guide as well).

There are a collection of programs you can use to download SAT or CABLE guides. OTA guides can be downloaded too but different software and there is a fee

The first link is to the program that displays the results of the download.. It does not, however do the download:

http://tvguide.sourceforge.net/

The next link is to the program that does the download This program has a small problem however which is covered in the next link:

NOTE that both of these links are download links, this one is direct to the file:
http://hacylon.case.edu/replaytv/MSN...raper_V.66.zip

Finally this message thread discusses the problem.. You need to add a line to the HOSTS file on the computer that runs it for the 2nd and later downloads of data, That line is: 65.54.195.254 tv.sympatico.msn.ca

and it is discussed in HERE: Planet Replay :: View topic - Free MSN XMLTV scraper - (stable beta V.66)

Now all this sounds like a lot of work.. and to be honest it is the first time

But once it's set up the TVguide program will invoke MSN-TV-Scrapper and download the listings,, You can then re-number them if you must (or re-name) and it will display them, Several different ways.

Plus it keeps a copy on your computer so if you are "Hiking" to the internet site and downloading listings (As I do) you still have a working guide
