TV Hookup problem

I have an 02 Southwind with the older CRT tv's. The DVD player seems to have been upgraded and only has the RCA outputs. This works ok for my front TV as it is directly connected to the back of it. My problem is for the rear tv. My selector box only has coaxial connections. How do I make it so the rear tv will work with my existing DVD player? Do they make an RCA to coaxial cable? If so I'm unable to find it at Radio Shack. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Radio Shack should have a RCA to RF box. The box will convert from RCA to Channel 3 or 4 which will be the output of the coaxial cable. The box is called a modulator. Here is one on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ZRWXF4K82CXJYJ

Two suggestions: #1: The modulator TEXNET suggested.. Have used, works well (Well it might have been a different model)

Suggestion 2: Line in on the VCR. Put it in record standby NOTE: Depending on the VCR. (And for that matter the DVD, not the player, the disc) This might not work.

Is this a common issue these days? I'm surprised they don't just make a cable for it, I guess if they could they would. Thanks for the help, I'll try the record standby first then go from there.

Did you look at the link on Amazon? The device was less than $11.00 :-) Most "cables" are more than that!

You have 2 totally different types of signals. With the RCA connections you have both video and audio on seperate lines. These are analog signals. The F connector on the back of the TV is designed to receive RF not analog signals. A "cable" is not possible without some electronics (RF Modulator) between the RCA output and the coax input.

They started making DVD players with no RF connections to reduce cost and all the TVs being made at that time had RCA audio and video connections built in. Several manufactures started making the RF modulator box to allow connecting games and DVD/VCRs that had no RF output.

Now with Blue Ray and most of the new DVD players you will find there are some that have no RCA outputs... they only have HDMI.

Eventually you will not be able to purchase a new RF Modulator as most manufactures have stopped making them because of low demand.

Many (TV's today have direct video in,, DVD players, near as I can tell, have NEVER had RF-Out.. The reason for DVD is higher quality video (At least this is manufacturer's think) as opposed to Video Tape.. Since the RF Modulator is not capable of providing the kind of resolution the DVD player is capable of delivering.. They did not bother putting one in.

That said.... many DVDs... I can't tell the difference.
