What is a BOMB?

What is this "bomb" you have? Also, what is c tv? I do use wireless HDMI, and have written it up here on IRV2.

I recently installed a 32 inch Samsung Smart TV and got rid of the BOMB (Box Of Many Buttons). The TV has 4 HDMI inputs. I have my Direct TV Genie, DVD player and a laptop computer plugged into three of the HDMIs. The bedroom TV (never used) is plugged into the RCA jacks on DVD player. The Rayzar TV antenna output goes to a splitter that feeds the front TV, bedroom TV and the Direct TV AM 21N OTA receiver. We had outside TV connections but never used them. The wiring is still there just in case. Same deal with bedroom TV we never use it. If we do decide to use the bedroom TV I will upgrade it to a Smart TV with a dedicated DVD player and a Mini Genie. Hope this helps, good luck.

Do you have ANT selected as the input on the TV, and did run a channel scan using the TV remote?

With a flatscreen, you don't need the BOMB (exception noted below). Each input (over the air antenna, satellite receiver, DVD player, etc.) gets connected to a separate input on the TV. Then use the TV remote to select the appropriate input (ANT, HDMI, Composite, etc.) according to what you want to watch.

Note: The exception for the BOMB is if the button to turn on the antenna amplifier (assuming you have a batwing or similar antenna with an amplifier) is part of the BOMB. In that case, you will need to run the coax from the antenna through the BOMB and then to the TV(s). Keep the ANT button depressed all the time and turn on the amplifier when watching OTA programs. If you ever hook up to cable at a campground, turn the amplifier off, select "Cable" on the TV remote, and run a channel scan.

I don't think I have a power button on my bomb. But I will check again.

I kept the BOMB (thanks for the great acronym) and the original coax for cable and OTA, but distribute HDMI via a wireless ActionTec system (one main and two remotes). You have to watch the same show over satellite, but either TV input and BOMB selection can be set to cable or antenna as appropriate. I have a 3-way switch for the Actiontec input - Satellite, Blu Ray and Roku.

A description of my efforts can be found in the LED/LCD Conversion - Bedroom TV thread in the technology section of these forums.
