TV Mounting Question

Our Apex 268BHS has a swivel mount in the wall between the bedroom and "den" that has an opening of about 24 inches. There is a post mounted to the bottom of the opening that doesn't appear very sturdy. Due to the opening I can only mount about a 21 inch TV. I have a spare TV in my house which is about 30 inches over all. I hate to buy a new TV just for the camper. Is there a way to mount the larger TV so that it will cover the swivel box? I realize it won't swivel then but that's not a concern. I will try to attach a photo of the swivel box.

Looks like your photo is turned 90º. Why not remove the swivel post and put a piece of plywood in the opening just behind the front trim. To that, you can attach a proper sized TV wall mount for your TV. By cutting a few large holes in the plywood, you can feed the wires from the box to the back of the TV. If you mount the TV up a bit, you'd still have room in the box bottom for remotes, DVD's etc.

The picture looks correct. The radio is in the lower right side. The swivel post is verticle. I think I understand what you're saying about the plywood. But if I don't make it pretty wifey won't be happy!

Pic is rotated 90 degrees on my screen too.....post is horizontal in pic orientation.
Your new tv will hide the plywood panel. If that;s a real problem get some birch plywood and stain it to match.
