TV volume

When we are watching sat. TV our volume is really good and only have it turned up less the half way. When we switch to the TV antenna we have to turn it all the way up to hear and that's not loud at all! Still have all original equipment that was put in when coach was built. Is there a setting that may have never been turned on? Been going to ask bout this ever since we bought the coach! Is there a way to turn the surround sound up as not much sound comes out of it either!

Signal quality , would be the biggest contributor to the difference in volume setting required . You should test that the booster power is reaching the antenna booster. Brand names of your current equipment,( cable distribution panel, antenna , surround sound ) will help get better answers.

Brenda and Bruce,
I think it is a commonality to all of the digital broadcast. I experience the same thing switching from Sat to OTA signals. I just live with one finger on the volume button. I need to do that to turn the commercials down when I'm not watching a prerecorded program on the DVR. (I can skip the commercials when prerecorded. )

What he said.

We experience the same thing. Gets your attention if you were watching OTA TV when you shut everything off and went to bed, and then turn it on using the satellite first thing next AM!

Question... you mentioned "Original equipment". How old is this "original equipment" is it older NTSC with a converter for over the air ATSC or is it the new wide screen ATSC?

If you are using an adapter... It also has a digital volume control.. You may simply need to turn it up.. Likewise your sat receiver has one, (you can turn IT down).

I have two converters here both feed DVR's. I run one "Wide Open" (Volume knob equivalent full clockwise) The other one I had to back it down a bit to balance.
