Upgrading our converter/charger with a wizard charger

Am presently with a Parallax Power Supply/series 7300,model 7345 and would like to upgrade the charger side with a charge wizard system. Has anyone done this upgrade and is it an available upgrade?

Many have, two ways to go about it
Method one: Remove Parallex 7300 from wall and remove electronics from rear Replace with Progressive Dynamics Intella powr 4600 (Match last two digits)

Method two.. Leave 7300 along save find the power lead to the convrter section (Often on a circuit breaker labeled CONV) disconnect from breaker (only) and tape/cap off Add a Progressive Dynamics Intellapower 9200 in parallel with power system (Again match last two digits) and feed from the breaker you just freed up

Advantage method 1: Weight
Advantage Method 2: You still have a "Back up" in the unlikly event the 9200 fails and it may be easier to pull off.

I upgraded mine a couple months ago. Read about it here)

Upgrading converter to 4 stage | 2001 Coachmen Mirada 300QB

This is the replacement unit I used

PowerMax PM4B-45 (45 Amp 4-Stage Converter/Charger)

I chose to put the new unit in place of the old unit. This require some cutting and drilling of the existing converter box

See Photo (Old / new)

However. You might consider an option that wa8yxm mentioned; Leave the existing power supply installed, unplug / disconnect the it from 110. Mount the new unit somewhere close by, wire the 12 volt output to your distribution box, then wire in the new unit to 110 power.

It won't hurt anything to leave the old units 12 volt output connected, as long as its not turned on.

You might consider installing a plug on the old unit, that way if something goes wrong with the new unit, simply unplug it, and plug in the old unit.
