If this is not the correct forum to post this in I apolgize. I have an 04 Tiffin Phaeton 40 and I'd like to upgrade the TV's to a little larger flatscreens. Have any of you folks done this? If so, could you share how you did it? Pictures wpuld be nice too. Thanks

Do a search of the forum for this. There are MANY threads, some with very good photos. Its definitly worth it (IMO) to change out the TVs. Good luck!

Yep, use the search function and you'll find tons of material on it.

I upgraded all three sets in our rig to a 37", 32" and 26" all run from a single HD DVR via HDMI.

Best of luck...

Rick

I did it on our '05 Allegro Bay, which may have a similar setup for the TVs to your '04 Phaeton. Click front TV and rear TV to see our blog for descriptions of the projects.

WOW, great installation!

Now I'm going to do it!

Thanks,

Great job and thanks to your dw for the blog. One question I have is about the bracket. Do you simply slide the tv over the mounting bracket? I haven't seen one like that. Thanks Cliff

Paz, did you consider what technical changes would be needed to use the space behind the two new flat panel TV's? Like hinges or a different mounting system?

Well, I can say this: Bought a Samsung LED 32" unit about month ago. Beautiful picture UNTIL I knocked it over (I'm in the middle of redoing the cabinet and mounts), had the TV on the co-pilots chair. It feel to the floor and actually part way out the door. Put a 1/8" X 1/2" scratch in the lower left of the screen. Now when on the scratch is just a glowing white line. Guess I'm going to go buy another one in the morning. About a $400 mistake!! Haven't told the DW yet! I WAS saving to buy a new pistol or ammo but now........

Half the bracket mounts to the back of the TV, and the other half mounts to the wall. There is a slot on the TV half that fits over a tongue on the other half. This lets the bottom swing up slightly so you can attach the wires to the back of the TV. After the wires are attached, the bottom swings down and a screw holds it in place.

Thanks Paz. Do you have a link to that bracket?
