Verizon Cell Phone Battery replacement
I have an LG VX8350 flip phone using Verizon for service that is probably 3 years old and the battery is showing full charge each time but just doesn't stay up as long as it used to.
I probably need a new battery and was wondering if a Verizon store would be the best place to shop for one or if the Internet would be as good and probably cheaper place to shop for one. If the Internet, where do most of you get your battery replacements? The current battery indicates it is 1000mAh.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I get all of mine at Amazon.com. Just get the battery model number off of the old one and search for it at Amazon or Ebay. You'll have a wide range of selection and I haven't ever gotten a bad one.

Might try Batteries Plus. Not sure how cheap they are though.

Batteries Plus's price for my battery is $37.99. Haven't shopped around enough to know is that's a good price or not.
Another thought (and I don't get many of these). When the battery is removed to install a new one will I lose all my Speed Dials and Contact List?

Agree - got extended life battery for the wife on Amazon ...
cheap and great - last 3 to 4 times longer than the standard battery -
now we just to get her a new cover for it...

I would buy from Batteries Plus regardless of cost just for the excellent customer service they provide.
Removing the battery for replacement should be just the same as letting it run down to zero power. Your data *should* be safe.

Simply removing and replacing your old battery should not cause you to lose any of your settings or contacts. Depending on your phone, Verizon may already have all your info (Contacts, pictures, etc) backed-up onto the internet. You may need to check with them for your particular phone.

I've purchased several cell phone batteries on ebay for prices a fraction of Verizon prices. Never got a bad one, always fresh.

eBay, most under $10 + shipping. All I have bought were fine!

Just checked Amazon a little while ago and found batteries for anywhere from $3.39 to $3.49 shipping free, depending on who the shipper was. How can they be this cheap? There was 8 reviewers who rated them a 1 Star with 26 rating them 4-5 Stars. The one Stars all said the first battery was either dead or only held a charge for one day but did get a replacement without any hassle. The replacements usually held a charge for 3-4 days for a month or so, wonder if these cheap batteries are all from China? Not even sure though where the original battery is from.

I've purchased from Batteries Plus a couple times. That's who I would recommend.
I would go for the highest current rating.
I'd pull your current battery, get the info from it, and then put it back into the phone until the new one arrives.
I wouldn't leave it out for more than 15 minutes or so.
I don't know how long the data will be retained with the main battery out.

Get your battery at any place but Verizon. You will be saving money!
