Verizon Discount

I recently retired from a company that gave me a Verizon discount. Now I will loose that discount.
I belong to most of the standard Orgs/Clubs, Elks, VFW, DAV, Good Sam, NRA, Costco, Sams Club.....ect. But I can not find that any of them have a discount program with Verizon. Am I overlooking something?
Any ideas who offers discounts?
Thanks
Les

Verizon doesn't know if you are not working there, they don't check. Once on the discount program you are always on it. I am and retired for 7 years.

Verizon has been checking on discounts for thousands of customers recently; I know because I received an email from them a couple of months ago and there have been discussions on other forums about it. Most people who are retirees from companies, etc, that have discounts for employees have lost them; I lost mine. Verizon demands paystubs, emails, contact phone numbers, etc, in order to continue getting the discount. There's a rumor that the people they went after first are those with grandfathered unlimited data plans but there's no proof of that.

there are better deals than Verizon. Try Straight Talk from Wal-Mart. $45 bucks a month, no contracts, all talk, text and web unlimited. where we live Verizon is the carrier. there is another new plan named REPUBLIC $20 bucks a month. safe travels... ed

Verizon checked on my discount and finally ended it this month. I haven't worked for the company since 2008, but it took them until now to figure it out. I have not found any other discounts.

The local Verizon store told me that this discount check just started this year. I have had the discount for a long time as a Ford employee. Fortunately I still work for the company so my discount continues. If not, it would have expired this month.

If you want Verizon, go to page plus wireless. They are a Verizon reseller. My $150 a month bill went down to $30.

Many carriers share cell towers, but the bandwidth on any given Verizon cell tower is going to be reserved for the core Verizon cliental. Not an issue when a tower is experiencing light traffic, but under high demand non Verizon clients will experience dropped call and throttled internet speeds.

It hasn't happened to me in 3 months. So far I have saved $360. If I did have a dropped call, or they throttled my internet speed it would be well worth it. It seems the the OP was complaining about a 15% discount, and I'm talking about a 80% discount here.

Just have them apply the discount for being a veteran instead. That is probably the only discount that they will not check on since once you are a vet then always a vet.

Hello All,

Thanks for the info, I will check on the Vet Discount. And I will check on the 80% discount. I like sound of that.
Yep, I have only been out of work for 3 months and they are checking on me and I also have unlimited data. Could be something to that.
