Verizon Jetpack® MiFi® 8800L SIM CARD question
Hello everyone. I apologize in advance if this question has been answered in other threads.
I have a 2019 Dutchstar ordered with the WIFI Skypro LTE Cell router. I'd like to sign up with the FMCA Verizon plan that includes the Verizon Jetpack. Will I be able to remove the SIM card from the Jetpack and insert it into the WIFI Skypro LTE cell router ? Or, will I need to get a different SIM Card from Verizon ?
Thank you in advance...

The answer to your question is "most likely" if the SIMs are the same size/format. If they're not, you can go to a Verizon store and they should be able to exchange them for ones that will fit.
FWIW, with the availability of the completely unlimited prepaid Verizon plan for $70 (less $5 autorenewal discount), I can't understand why you'd want to pay $49 to FMCA for a plan limited to 25GB of high speed LTE data. JMO

Thanks docj. I wasn't familiar with the unlimited prepaid Verizon plan. That sounds like a better plan for my usage. I will look into that now. Thank you very much for the info.

If your going to just pull the card why spend the money on the 8800L?
Pickup something cheep off the web or buy Verisons Ellipsis for $49?
Double check card size? Mine came from Veriison and you could punch it out for 4-5 different size cards.

He's a salesman so he lies when he moves his lips. Yes, you can add a Jetpack to an unlimited Verizon family plan AND it will have unlimited data BUT not all the data will be at 4G/LTE speed. Depending on which specific unlimited plan you have (Above, Beyond, etc) after 15GB or 22GB your data speed will be reduced to <600kbps. Read his lips!

This sounds like a postpaid data/jetpack plan being quoted to you. It will have a hard cap on data (15g?), Verizon convinced my brother that adding this "same" plan to his postpaid was the same as the prepaid plan... it isn't.. He now has one on my account, he sends me $50 a month (extra $5 is for the taxes & fees)
The Prepaid plan is $70, w/autopay $65, if added to an existing prepaid plan w/autopay, $45 ($70 - $5 autopay - $20 family discount = $45)
Hope this makes sense...

I agree, We have an unlimited wireless plan from Verizon. We have two phones, two tablets and a Jetpack all on the plan, the second phone, tablets and Jetpack are all $20 per month (not including taxes) and they work great. BUT, there is a limit (throttling) that Verizon 'may' put on the Jetpack (or any of the other items if used as a hotspot if I go over 22 GB per month).
I have not found that I have ever made it to the max data per month on the Jetpack. But, we don't stream movies through it. Mostly use it for our computers and a bit of streaming from You Tube and such.
Also, on Verizon's system, if I use my phone as a Hotspot and a call comes in, it will drop my hotspot connection until I hang up the call. This is the reason for having both (for me). I use them for work while out of the office when traveling (in the RV or just on the road with work) AND the Jetpack is a LOT faster on line than a cell phone is as a hotspot. It can hook up to more than one cell tower at the same time to make the connection faster. Sometimes the Jetpack will work when our phones say 'no service' when we are in remote areas. It is slow when this happens, but it gets us on line to do emailing and such.

But, If you are limited to 15gb, and you use the phone as hot spot, it also gets 15 gb at 4g in addition to the jetpack.

Let me assure you that there is no " may" with respect to Verizon's throttling of your device if you reach the 15GB limit (or 22GB limit on some plans). Your speed will be reduced to <600kbps until the end of your billing period.
Don't confuse this throttling with the "network management" throttling that may be imposed if you reach the 22GB level. That is different and may or may not be imposed in any particular situation.
If you can live with your Jetpack's allowance then by all means do so. Many of us, who steam much of our video content, couldn't possibly live with 15GB a month again or anything close to that.

This is exactly what Im willing to do..as long as its true unlimited...45 bucks with actual unlimited would be reasonable IMHO with the existing unlimited plan...
We all know Verizon coverage in combination with a weboost booster should be as about good as it gets with no GB cap
but...the friggin customer reps lie in writing with the chat email stuff but no matter as Verizon wont honor it...just trying to figure out how to get the actual no GB cap plan over the jetpack usual plan?? So I have to specify a prepay plan to make this work the way Im thinking?
2nd part of the question, can I use this sim in a netgear wireless router instead? or does it really matter with the cheaper jetpack and the weboost booster?
Ultimately docj Im willing to pay just want to make sure Im paying for what I think it is in spite of those lips moving lying reps

I'm using the SIM from my 8800L in a Netgear LB2120 and it started up
without issue "using a SiM adapter" - selected this model so I could hard wire a CAT5 output to my router. I'm keeping both so i have a backup if one ever dies while on the road.
some of the netgear will not support both carriers - so you will need to be careful -
NETGEAR 4G LTE Modem with Two Gigabit Ethernet Ports (LB2120)
