Reading and posting to your thread using my Verizon Mifi 3G 5 Spot. Works great for us.

We chose the 3G option since we are full-time and are NEVER anywhere in a 4G area. Not worth it for us.

I have both a Verizon 3G Fivespot and a MiFi 4G LTE Samsung. The 4G is nice when you have a strong 4G signal, otherwise it is useless. The 3G Fivespot is much more reliable, never disconnects. The speed is slightly slower, but at least you have an Internet connection. Their are two problems with the 4G. It chooses a weak 4G signal over a strong 3G signal, and does not give the option to choose either. Although the Verizon 4G network is good, there are some glitches so therefore it is not as reliable as the 3G.

As to suspensions - "The 20-gigabyte account can be placed on “vacation” for up to 3 calendar months during any 12-month period. It is necessary to inform Millenicom before the calendar month or months in order to take advantage of this service. Reactivating the device in the midst of any month requires payment for the entire month. The account can be closed at any time, however the final month of service is not prorated. The account can be reactivated at any time in the future with only a $19.99 reactivation fee.".
I called Millenicom to get the details of their service, and they told me that if the service is suspended for a month (or more), there is a $45 re-activation fee. I reacted to this, and asked him why they charge $45, when Verizoncharges $35. He said that Verizon charges them $35, and that they need to make something too.

The only advantage I can see with them over Verizon, is that if you really are using more than 5bg every month, Millenicom has a 20gb plan, but it does cost more per month than Verizons 5 gig plan.

That's interesting - My quote above is from their FAQ page. I guess I'll find out in April!

With my 4510L I can go into the configuration area and force it to either 3G or 4G if I want to...

I too just purchased the Verizon 4510L 4G modem/router with a 5GB limit. I paid 99 bucks and got a $50 debt card good anyplace for anything. I was in Nellis AFB in vegas and was getting 10.5 GB down and 5.58 up so the 4G was working very well. I'm in Brenda, AZ now on 3G and get a cosistant 2.2GB down which is a lot better than my old setup of a Linksys router and PC5750 aircard. I can suspend my 2 year contract once a year free of charge for up to 3 months if I wish.
