True, but I've found availability more important than speed when rating a provider. Also, campground WiFi came out as a contender.

Is anybody using Xfinity cellphone service? Thinking of switching to them from Verizon.

I haven't used Xfinity but just wanted to let you know that it still uses Verizon's network. It's an MNVO. If you are already using Verizon you won't see much of a change in calls and text. They could (probably) deprioritize your data service though. Whether or not they deprioritize your data varies between MNVO providers, so read the fine print if you care about data.
There are a lot of MNVO service providers. Verizon has their own MNVO called Visible. There's a long thread on here about it and it only cost $40 a month per line. I didn't like their specific phone requirements. Can't just use any phone.

We've been with Verizon for years - and one son and his family have AT&T...the other has T-Mobile. Generally speaking we have FAR better service (signal strength, less dropped calls, less "going digital") than they do at any location where we are together.
We also find if we are in temporarily crowded areas (festivals, fairs, etc.) Verizon has more access.
Friends attending events too complain that with AT&T they can't even send a text, while we are doing just fine with Verizon for texts and calls.

Verizon is the best. You will find yourself going back. We find we have service when others don't.

They use all Verizon towers, otherwise wouldn't consider it.

I just switched 4 phones to Verizon from ATT. I go to some places every year in Northern California and Oregon near 395 where ATT doesn't seem to work at all. Last Summer I was also using a Verizon Jetpack for times when ATT wasn't there. I also found other places where ATT worked and Verizon didn't.
I plan to install a Winegard Togo Roadlink C2 with a $360 annual ATT unlimited plan on my trailer to provide when Verizon doesn't work. I turned off the Verizon Jetpack since I will be using ATT as the backup plan.
ATT at my home is very slow while Verizon seems to be getting better data rates. I think it is a case where the ATT tower is slammed and the Verizon isn't. I get about the same amount of bars from each provider. I only use the cellular data at home when my Charter broadband Internet is not working.
The Great Basin has a lot of areas with no water/no people and very little cellular coverage even on the highway. I had camped without cellular about half the nights on a 10 day Utah/Arizona/Nevada trip in September.
I use DishTV because it works great in areas with no cellular if you can get a clear shot to the satellites.
I use a Garmin Inreach Satellite messenger when cellular doesn't work at all.
