I just connected my VMSPC and got it working. I installed it on an HP portable with Windows 7(32 bit)
The first thing I noticed was no boost pressure. So my first dumb question is: Will you see any boost at 1000rpm while stopped. 6 speed allison in nuetral? Maybe 3-4 percent load indicated.
I will take it out for a test run after the holidays to check it on the road. Just want to know what to expect.

Not all engines / chassis give all readings. You can call Silverleaf to find out which readings you will not get.

I wouldn't expect to see any boost at that low an engine load.

Thanks Joe and Norm,
I have been searching the forum and I found at least one member that could never get a boost reading on an older 275. I forgot about the sniffer. If I still don't get any after my run on tuesday then maybe I'll call cummings.
Anyone know where the boost sensor is located??

Completed my first test run with VMSPC.
Joe,
You were right. As soon as i pulled out the drive I started getting readings on the boost. The max I noted was 24-25 but driving along at 1500 rpm it was about 3-5.
So everything works except I had to reload a driver since the device manager showed it was not loaded. W7 32 bit hope I don't have to do it every time.
Thanks for comments.
Tom

Glad you got it working Tom... and thanks for asking the "dumb question" before I did! VMSPC is on my short term list which I'll be getting to shortly.

Thanks Ricko
It is really neat and I will pobably be driving by it. After you establish what is norm for your vehicle then you can use the info to tell if something is going wrong before a major failure.
For ex the coolant temp fluctuates on the graph and you can watch the thermostat turn on and off.
The boost will tell you if your turbo loop is working properly. Also maniford temp
You cn adjust your speed based on rolling mpg or instantanous mpg if you looking to save fuel.
Alternator out in indicated.
Many other little things.

Greystroke, The boost sensor is located just below and behind the engine mounted fuel filter, a little hard to get at but not impossible. easier with the filter off, and they can fail , happened twice on our 98 36T discovery. Sure loose a lot of power if it does.

Thanks GKNott
I will be changing by engine filter soon so I will look for it. But now that I know it is working, I am no rush.
