Before I tear into this cable I need some help. My connection to the monitor I think is bad the tip that fits into the back of the monitor that carries the picture and sound signals isnt working (or sometimes working) on and off, I think the plug may be not making good connection. If you wiggled the the tip you get the sound to go off and on. Its hard to hear DW telling me which way to go backwards. Its worse when temp is hot. My question therefore is: Can i attach a new cable to the rear (by the camera) tape it to the old cable and pull it through to the front without it getting caught on something ? because if it gets hung up I'm really screwed. Because I'll loose picture and all. Has anybody done this and was everything ok. Or did it turn into a nightmare ??
Thanks

What I did a couple of years ago on my rig was to get at the connectors and pinch down the contacts just a little and socketed the plug to the back of the monitor. It's been working fine ever since.

I'm not sure i could get to the connectors as my plg only has 3 small round holes that you really cant see into. I'm sure it would help if I knew the correct name of the connector. But thanks....

I would make absolutely, 100% sure it is the cable before trying to pull it. I struggled with mine for a year, at both ends trying to see if it was the camera, monitor, or cable. Long story short, it was a partial, sometimes OK, sometimes not, of both the camera and monitor. Replaced both, using the old cable still in place and has been working fine for the past two years (around 20,000 miles of continuous use).

Thanks Rocky, Iam of the same belief you are think I'll just leave it alone until the picture goes then I'll replace the whole thing (except The cable). I could really get into trouble trying to replace it. If its tied around something in the ceiling Iam out of luck and would have to revert to my walkie talkies. I think somethings on these moho's you just cant get to unless you tear the ceiling or roof off and I aint goin there.. Thanks
