Wally & Winegard G3 always does 'Check-Switch'

As my headline says, every time I turn on the TV I have to wait while it goes thru the entire 'Check Switch' and 'Acquiring Signal' routine - even tho nothing has changed from last time I'd use it.

I replaced an older G2+ (it just quit) for the G3 awhile back, but I get the same thing - making me think it's the Wally at fault. I even did a "Return To Factory Settings' in the Wally, but still no-joy. I sent a message to WineGard Help, but haven't heard back yet.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Just guessing, but are you turning the Wally off completly(as in unplugging ) vs turning the Wally off with the power button?
What happens if you just leave the Wally on and turn the tv off?

Good point. I just turn it off with the remote each time.
If I leave Wally on but turn the tv off, everything is fine. Again, it points to the Wally - probably an erroneous saved setup setting or similar.

I leave my Wally on all the time so it can download guide, update, etc. Every time I shut down and move and set back up it goes throught the whole process... and rarely works the first time. I have to let it sit searching, do a reset, unplug card, etc and it finally find the satellites. Frustrating, but live with it.

That is the way my Wally has worked since brand new. I never turn it off unless there is a specific reason to do so.
