Want to switch to FIOS in house--keep DTV for MH?

I am thinking of switching to FIOS for all my TV/Internet/Phone for the house. Improved internet and a lower overall bill, as compared to the three independent services I have now. At the same time I'd like to maintain some DirecTV service for the motorhome. Has anyone done this? Are there any things, especially with DTV, I should before talking to them? What's a typical monthly charge to maintain an account, etc.

Thanks in advance

Pat

This is the same problem we have. Both Verizon employees and have FiOS internet plus phone. The TV was not available until recently here, we already have Directv. I always just took a receiver with us in the MH.

Now we would love to get the FiOS TV when our contract runs out with DTV but really don't want to pay for both.

DTV will be happy to (mabe not happy but they will do it) give you mobile service with LA NY locals if you sign a waiver and provide them with a copy of your MH registration.

I can tell you that FiOS service is second to none. Not just because we work for VZ either. The more stuff you bundle the better the price tag so if your cell is with us tell the representative. It might help, I'm not sure.

You were right the first time. DTV will be happy to provide this service to anyone who qualifies.

Anyone know if you have to sign up for additonal channels in order to get the distant network channels when going mobil with Directv?

Bill- you said "anyone who qualifies." What qualification is necessary?
Thanks.

Mike,
What they wanted from us was just proof of the RV, copy of the registration and sign the waiver to prove you were mobile. In our case we had three receivers so the other two had to be "on vacation" while we traveled so we decided to just go without the "locals" since it was only for 3-4 weeks.

You cannot get DNS service only but if you are currently paying for any service level with DirecTV or Dish Network you can add the DNS service without changing your current package.

We have DTV with DNS in the coach but suspend it while parked at our home base for the winter months (we have cable tv/internet at our home there). Then we suspend the cable tv when we are on the road with the coach. That way we aren't paying double all the time.

DNS costs $14/month extra for the package of 4 networks, both NY and LA feeds. Otherwise I think it is $2.50 per feed if you choose only certain ones. Our base DTV service is the Choice package for $55.99/month, but you can pay more or less depending on the programming you want.
