I have read of several forum members being unable to email large files. I came across a couple of sites that offer free file storage and transfer that may be of help.

One is sendspace.com. I tried it with a 20 Mb file and it worked great. The free option restricts transfer speeds, file size, and includes ads (hardly noticeable). Registration is optional. Just designate the file(s) to upload, and enter your and recipient's email address. You both get an email linking to the file.

The other site is drop.io. I haven't tried this one, but it has some interesting features.

I use a service at www.4shared.com. It's free for occasional use. I pay $20.00 a year for 10 gigs of space. I simply upload the file and send a "link" to it via email to the intended person. They click the link and down load the file to their computer.
Here's an example.

This way you don't have to send a 10 or 20 meg attachment that most email won't accept.

I don't know how big a file people are having troubles with but if I have large files I just use Winzip to compress them then just send them as an attachment. Winzip can be downloaded for free.

I often have to get files that are 40 - 50 megs big to my team. Most of the them mp3 audio files. They don't compress much.

Those guys are expensive. I pay $20 or $30 a year for 10 gig of storage and 10 gig of bandwidth a day.

Most ISPs provide FTP webspace to their users. Ask yours for the URL that is assigned to you.

My SendSpace experience is so-so up to now. belgian has been trying to send me some large files. I got 3 out of 14, and then got messages that remaining source files were deleted from server. Regarding SkyDrive, it looks promising but I just hate registering with every service in the world.

I really suggest you try 4shared.com. The free service is good. The paid service is even better. I move between 1-3 gigs of files a day in 4 countries a day.
