You would want to position the booster as close to the antenna as possible and then have the indoor antenna be on the longer cable. Does neither company have a way to do this ?
I think I understand your question.

The 60' of cable from the outside antenna is not a problem loss wise. This is very high quality, low loss coax. The requirement is to keep the indoor and outdoor antennas 20' or more apart for good isolation and to point them in opposite directions for the same reason.

I did a temporary correction on the outside antenna last night. The gain from the inside (desktop) antenna is now around 3 to 4 bars at about 10'.

The competitors I have looked at seem to have good products. The major reasons I went with Wilson is 1, from past personal experience with the customer support team and 2, the cost of the Home 4G was about $200 less for the same or better spec.

The reason for the extending of the cable for the inside antenna is to try to find a better AC power location. The extension cord on the floor is a bit unsightly and not pleasing to DW. Domestic bliss is enhanced with a happy DW.

Happy trails,

Rick Y

Also, keep in mind the separation between the repeater antenna inside coach and any WiFi router/AP. Minimum spacing should be at least three feet otherwise the LTE/4G can interfere with both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. If your devices seem to lose connectivity or are very slow, move one or the other.

This has to be a harmonic problem because the cell frequencies are not directly related. But, thanks for this info. I didn't know this. It would stand to reason that a laptop would suffer the same problem with close proximity to the desktop antenna.

It is because of two issues, power and no band filter on repeater. The high power and the fade of the edge frequencies tend to interfere with the WiFi. Also having no band pass filter on the WiFi makes the access point more susceptible to these issues.

As always, your mileage may vary.

At this point I don't have any issues. When I do use a WiFi repeater it is far from where I have established the desktop antenna for the Wilson. Where I am now we have a good, unassisted signal most of the time.

Do you know of a cheap cell phone that I can buy that I can use as a db meter? Wilson has a big list of phones and program codes. There is just too much info to research. Any help? Thanks.

Any Android phone will give you current signal in dB for the carrier it is able to receive.

Under "About phone" in the settings, you can find a plethora of information.

Good to know. So, it does not have to be a smart phone? I am now very comfortable with the Microsoft phone. It is too bad their advertising and support are so poor. It is a great OS but without some of the features of Apple and Android, like the db meter. Is there a particular "cheap" phone you would recommend?

You can get a used Nexus (Google) for less than $100. As a matter of fact, I will send you an old one for free if you PM your shipping address.

I need to thank Holly at WeBoost for giving to me a DC-DC 12 to 6 volt adapter for my Home 4G system and a new mounting box for the outside antenna. We are at our new location in CA. I mounted the system and the signal gain is good. AT&T went from 2 bars to 3 and the Verizon phone about the same. unw1red has a test phone shipped for me. So, come Monday, I'll be seeing which direction the signal is coming from and tune things up a bit better. So far we are pleased with the system.
