We just got an IPAD and so far, it seems that DW is using it for games. Seems like a lot of money for a Game Boy, maybe it is just me. What apps are those of you that have an IPAD using?

Use the search on your Ipad and type in RV. You will get a list of apps for RVing. My wife likes the allstay app. It's a free app that will show you all the areas for camping in the area you are at.

When I purchased the Ipad the wife thought it was a waste of money. Now she uses it all of the time since it is faster than her laptop PC.

I use the Dish Network application. Let you control you program your DVR remotely. If your receiver supports the slingbox you can even watch TV or DVR recording remotely. Works on the IPhone as well.

Dropbox is nice as well. Free acount and a bit of online space. Install it on your laptop or desktop. Files dropped in the dropbox will show on the IPAD. I put PDF manuals in to reference on IPAD.

I have iPad envy....ditto for the Dropbox recommendation. I use it for both work and home, lets me not have to worry about transporting memory sticks, etc.

It is not a toy for me - use it for work, my library (no room in 5er for my library), email, GPS, etc. Replaces the computer for me on the road. Takes up far less space and weight. After all RVing is all about space and weight restrictions.

A whole bunch of applications already mentioned (some I don't have but need to look into).

"Our" iPad is really "her" iPad. Since I have an iMac at the house, it is synced to Mobile Me for calendars, email, contacts, notes, etc. Any change on any machine and it syncs the other.

Another one that I'm going to try out when on the road is Remote Helper. With an app installed on the iMac, and the iPad I can control my home computer while on the road.

We also have the camera, SD Card, and VGA adapters. I have hooked up the VGA adapter to the big screen in the MH and watched some slide shows. I'm interested in seeing how it is going to do with HULU and other movie streams. I was fortunate enough to get on the unlimited download plan, and I'm not going to give it up.

Go to the App store ad in their search pane, type in "Free" and you will get a ton of free apps. There are also some higher priced ones.

Good luck.

Added The Masters App for the iPhone yesterday. It was free while the one for the iPad cost. It works on the iPad just fine.

I have a lot of the apps already mentioned but the one that I like the most is a GPS app called MotionX GPS Drive HD and it cost a whopping $2.99. I have had 2 Garmin and a Magellan GPS and this $2.99 app blows all of those away. A definite plus is the large iPad screen. You have to have an iPad that has 3G for it to work correctly.
