Since All American Direct has stopped offering HD national feeds, what do we do now? I have a lot invested in an automatic sat antenna and now must watch only standard Definition?

There are rumors that Dish may be allowed to again carry national feeds and there is some thought that if we all protest to AAD they may reconsider.

What do you think?

Why don't you just subscribe to the local channels in your area? All of the major networks are HD.

Thanks for your input. I do subscribe to HD locals at home, but that only works for about 150 miles from home. I know some people just change their service address with Dish each time they move, but that's just not practical when staying just a day or two in each location.

That is why ADD was a great solution. Plus the locals are usually on the 129 sat. When we are in trees, the 110 sat is much easier to lock onto. I have the Trav'lr 3005, but sometimes I have to put it in the single sat mode when signal is blocked.

Any other thoughts?

We spent 3 months on the Left Coast, then 3 months on the Right Coast, and in all that time and travel we were without the network channels on only a few occasions. I crank up the batwing, or hook to cable when available, and enjoy. I must say that the batwing OTA digital signals are so much sharper than cable or satellite

I also found that if I hook the batwing antenna to the back of the satellite dish and do a scan (use the menu) for local channels, the satellite receiver will pick them up and the guide display will give you information. The colors of the OTA channels will be different then the guide satellite channels.

To heck with ADD.
