I have had the Winegard traveler on 2 of my coaches. It is pricey but worth it.

Here is a very interesting article comparing the RF Mogul Eagle system to the Winegard Trav'ler.

I will also recommend you investigate the RF Mogul Eagle for Direct TV. As the article above notes, there are significant advantages over the Winegard Traveler. I had issues with my Traveler and replaced it with the RF Mogul. IMO, it is a superior product.

Glad to have you here in the forum with us.

I installed a Winegard Trav'ler year and a half ago and it is by far the best antenna I have had. I use mine with Dish Network.

Happy Trails!!!

Something to think about.......

I installed the Winegard Traveler on my last two motor homes. They can have issues, but they're a big company that has been around for a looooong time and also make several other types of TV antennas.

RF Mogul sounds like a good company, but so was MotoSat. They were a competitor to Winegard and eventually got tired of the changes they had to make in their satellite electronics to stay in tune with DirecTV. They eventually quit upgrading their product and went out of business.

Sooooo....I would think about spending about $1500.00 on a new company. Who knows, they may become bigger than Winegard, but Winegard is still the biggest satellite company.

I agree that the weingard traveler dish 1000 is the best I ever had. Hits 3 sat. At the same time and fold s back when ready to travel.

Bought my Coach from a previous owner and it had a KLH System on it - It was a piece of junk. Rarely worked properly. Had it removed and installed the Winegard Traveler - What an improvement!

I would say that it would be a tossup between the RF Mogul or the Winegard Traveler. The Mogul weighs about 36 pounds and the Winegard weighs 65. You can replace individual components of the Mogul but have to ship the entire Winegard back for repair.

I have the Winegard and have had no problems with it

Replaced Kingdome on our 2011 Itasca with RF Mogul in the first 6 months of ownership. Great service, great support, and very good, very fast lock on satellite times. You can replace modular components of RF Mogul system if necessary, and not have to send the whole thing back to the factory. RF mogul dish is slightly larger so better reception and dish and mount is very solid in stiff winds. Hands down will be the satellite system on our next coach as well.

I agree with Don's points between the two.. the RF Mogal is a nice antenna but I personally would be concerned about the longevity of the company as a whole. We see them every year in Quartzsite and the system looks really interesting, but I can't get over the (respectful) "garage operation" compared to Winegard. I'm tired of fixing stuff that I have to reverse engineer for lack of support

Our rig came with the OEM MotoSat for Direct. The controller burned out so I got the RF Mogul Eagle 1 controller. Works great with the MotoSat top end and when it quits I can just get the RF Mogul top end and have the controller reprogramed
