I want to install a A/B switch near the back of the Sat. receiver "A" would be for roof dish , "B" would be for portable dish.
will any type work or do I need some thing special.

My A/B switch is from Radio Shack. I do not have the model number. The switch is black. It is an electronic, not mechanical switch. It must be plugged into 110V AC. If the power is lost the switch defaults to the "A" setting.

Nearly any good A/B switch will work. Some use a slide lever to change from A to B and I do not recommend these. You also don't need any kind of an electronic one. Winegard makes one I have used as well as Radio Shack.

I got my push button A/B switch for the roof/tripod dishes at Radio Shack and has worked fine for 7 months now.
