Which Direct TV Receiver?

What receiver do I need to record two shows at a time and still watch regular TV? It will need to be capable to use coaxial in from antenna and out to tv fittings.
Thanks in advance for everyone's advise.

Safe travels all

The better question is do you have a sat antenna that will work for that. Pretty much the only antenna that will allow that is a Winegard Travl R . The next issue is most receivers that do that no longer have coax out put just Composite and HDMI .

To record 2 shows and watch live on Direct TV you will need a Genie reciever or you can get the H24 DVR (I believe that is the correct model) and it will record 2 shows but you have to watch one being recorded or watch a pre recorded show. You will need the Winegard Travler antenna for either Direct or Dish (you need to specifi which one). If you already have a older travler (model SK3005) for Direct then you need to install the SWM kit from Winegard (very easy) if you are getting a new travler then it will come with SWM. If you have Dish I am not sure what you will need.

We use the R16-300 Direct TV dvr. It will record two shows while watching a recorded show in standard def. The signal is provided by the Winegard MiniMax Roadtrip in motion dome.

To do your scenario you would need the Genie which will also record in Direct TV version of HD. But then you would need the Winegard Traveler HD capable antenna and the SWM components.

Our dvr does not provide HD picture nor does our satellite dome.

We find SD is nearly as good as Direct TV HD on smaller (>50") screens.

Direct TV HD on our big screens is not nearly as good as our OTA HD reception.
