Which service and what equipment?

I have a winter residence that I’d like to get satellite for when I’m there and then be able to take the box to be used in the MH. My 07 MH has a King Dome 9702-LP that has never been used. Which provider/plan should I look at? Is my King Dome ok for today's technology or should I get a portable dish?
At my primary residence I use cable and bundle it with computer and digital phone so I will not be changing to satellite.

Bob; do you want HD @ winter residence??
If so then I suggest Dish network as your King Dome will not get HD for Direct
If HD is of no concern- either will work just fine!
Pick the one that has the program pkg you want
FWIW

Bob, I have been a subscriber to Directv for over twelve years at home, and have had it in our motorome for about six years. I have a dome for reception on our motorhome. Your King Dome should work well with either Directv, or Dish Network. You will not be able to recieve HD television from either of these services with your dome. If HD is important to you, you will have to install a multi-satt dish setup for the motorhome. There are several plans available from each sat service co, depending on what you prefer in your TV viewing. I have the Directv Choice Plus plan, and it serves us well. I do not have an in motion dome for reception while traveling on highway.

Would like HD at the home but not a concern in the MH. On my cable system HD is included in the price I pay. Is that the way it works with satellite or is HD an upcharge? If included, it sounds like I could go with either company to get HD at home then get digital thru the King Dome.

When choosing a package do I mention that the converter box will also be used in the MH?

There is a Direct TV dealer that advertises in Motorhome magazine that specializes in just what you want to do. We contacted them last year and got a DVR box that is portable and they sent us a free portable dish. We are very happy with the service. We used to have cable, but switched to sat so we could take it on the road.
