I am currently using Verizon's UM150 USB modem in my wireless router. Sometimes the signal is not all that brilliant at which time I connect the Wilson Trucker antenna to the moden.

Would I improve my reception signifikant by buying/installing something like Wilson's electronics signal booster?

Any other low cost suggestions are appreciated.

First... you are not seeking info about a WiFi booster as the title of your thread says, you are seeking info about a cell phone booster :-) as you are using Verizon's cell phone network.

Yes, you will have a better signal using one of Wilson Electronics amplifiers. Which one depends on how you want to use it. If you only want to amplify one signal then a hardwired amplifier is better. If you need to connect more than one device then Wilson has several models available which use a inside antenna/pickup device then a amplifier then to an outside antenna.

Thanks - you are of course right about the Wi-FI cellphone comment. I stand corrected.

Not being familiar with a "hardwired amplifier" can you provide and example of such. I thought the Wilson amplifier qualified as a hard wired amp for just one connection?

Wilson (and other companies) make both "direct connection" amplifiers as well as devices that amplify and rebroadcast a cell signal within a building or RV. We use a Wilson 811201 amplifier which is wired to the antenna connection of our cellular modem. Our experience has been that we can almost always make voice cell phone calls with our phones, but stable internet connections benefit significantly from having an amplifier and external antenna.

A hardwired amplifier would be one that has a connection on one end for your cell phone or data card and one on the other end for an antenna. You would run a cable from your phone or data card directly to the side of the amplifier that is for that purpose and plug in antenna to the antenna connector.

A non-hardwired will not have a place to plug in your cell phone or data card. Normally this type will have two antennas. One antenna will be inside the coach and the other antenna will be mounted outside the coach. This type of amp allows you to use more than one device at the same time through the amplifier.

Here is an example of a non-hardwired:
Wilson SignalBoost MobilePro Wireless Cellular/PCS Dual-Band Amplifier (801244)

Here is an example of a hardwired:

You will need to purchase 2 antennas and cable for this unit.

While the site Eveadam has listed does sell amplifiers the company is a wholesale comapny based in China. The links that Eveadam provided lead you to jamming devices. In the US you will need a special permit to use and it is illegal to use, own or sell.

Cell phone blocking devices are used by federal officials under certain circumstances. Privacy rights of property owners may affect the policy and application of law within buildings. The FCC may issue a permit that waives the law for private use. For radio communications, it is illegal to operate, manufacture, import, or offer for sale, including advertising (Communications Act of 1934).[9] Blocking radio communications in public can carry fines of up to $11,000 or imprisonment of up to one year.[10] The Homeland Security Act of 2002 may override the Communications Act of 1934.[11]Cell phone blocking devices are used by federal officials under certain circumstances. I think there are wifi apps on both iPhone and Android phones. It harnesses the wifi capability of phones.
