Ok you gurus out there. We spend a lot of time in Yellowstone in the summer (work there). We have Verizon service for phones and mifi jet pack. We get 3 bars and LTE. Phone calls are no problem however data sucks. Many times less than 1 mbs up or down according to speed test app. Problem is, of course, too many users for available bandwidth. Would a WeBoost type device improve our data or do I just have to wait until 2am to get usable speed (as I do now). Hate to spend the money and still be in same situation.

If you are getting 3 bars and LTE data, I suspect the tower is just too busy and the WeBoost will not help that much. Too many people and not enough towers.

I agree! I mainly connect to a Mobley MiFi and sometimes a Verizon Jetpack, although I still connect to a campground WiFi from time to time when desperate.

That’s what I thought. Thanks for confirming. Probably too many people streaming and not leaving enough room for browsing or even checking e-mail. Streamers have no idea how much band width they use up, all they know is ‘I have unlimited’. [emoji849]

When your problem is "too many users for available bandwidth" then no amplifier is going to help you. Sounds as if you are getting plenty of signal so amplifying it isn't going to make it better. Quite honestly, 1Mbps isn't such a bad data rate. You can't stream on it, but a few years ago most of us would have done practically anything to have had that kind of speed. It's all relative. JMO

A cheap Wifi booster like our Bear Extender we have had for several years, $45 comes in handy when we want to conserve our limited Verizon 4G-LTE high speed hotspot data. If we have good speed using a free public hotspot with the Bear Extender while boondocking we will use it. Since we installed our Weboost Cellular Booster we're not using the Bear Extender as much as we were but under the right circumstances it is nice having it. I'm sure a WiFi Ranger has all kinds of advantages over our humble Bear Extender but the little unit will really boost up some weak wifi signals.
