WiFi Ranger Go2 Problem?

My Wifi Ranger has worked perfectly for a couple years. In the last month, since updating to 7.0.3 I think, it has been dropping WiFi connections constantly. I can't seem to stay connected more than a minute or two. Has anyone else had similar problems?

Mike-

iRV2 user "docj" knows the WiFi Ranger products. If he doesn't post an answer shortly, you may want to send him a private message.

WiFiRanger also schedules tech phone support sessions So if Doc/Joel does not drop in soon, you might go ahead and get yourself in line for a call back from the mothership. (The few times I've called them for help, they've been able to talk to my level, and even with my 10 thumbs and not so solid knowledge of these things - I was pleased with their patience and resolved things easily. (Some self inflicted, and one a bug on a roll out (This was on the 1st Generation Ranger.)

You might take a look at you control panel settings, and see if anything seems out of sorts to you....

Best of luck,
Smitty

Hi Mike:

You say that you are using the 7.0.3 firmware; are you sure you are on the most recent version? Just click on the Check for Update link until it flashes for a while. If there's an update available it will tell you.

After you've checked for updates and updated, if necessary, revisit the situation and check to see if anything has changed. If you are continuing to drop connections please provide as much information as possible as to the type of wifi you are connected to. Is it a park wifi that you have connected to in the past without problems? Do you know if they've made any changes? What happens if you connect to a cellular hotspot, either a Jetpack or a phone used in hotspot mode? Is the cellular connection more stable than the park wifi?

You can either PM me with the information or post it here.

Joel,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I did check for updates.
My connections were at 3 or 4 different RV Parks. Had the same issue at all of them. If I connected directly from my laptop, the connections worked OK. I can't remember what happened when connected to my phone. I will get the Go2 from my MH the next time I am there and try it here at home.

Mike:

Campground wifi's can vary greatly in quality and stability. That's why it's important to test the Ranger with a known stable connection such as you would get with your phone or your home internet sources (assuming you have a hotspot router with your cable or FIOS). Once you know whether or not the Ranger is stable with a stable source you can begin to pin down the problem.
