This has probably been discussed before at length but JIC...
I would like to put a booster antenna on the outside of the coach and have it possibly connect to a WiFi router etc inside a cabinet so that when we are at a WiFi equipped campground, we can get better reception while ...er..."working" on the laptops in the coach.
At the last campground, our spot was at the back and reception was non existent. While they are trying to improve this, we found it necessary to either go sit outside of the office in our toad or go into the office to access the WiFi that they provided.
I was hoping to mount a weatherproof WiFi booster antenna where our CB antenna used to mount.
Any suggestions or solutions...and links are greatly appreciated as I have three weeks to resolve this before our next visit to this campground (we like it a lot).
Thanks in advance.

I have THIS Amplified antenna and it works great. I have not found a camping yet that I was not able to pick up their signal. That is unless they didn't supply WiFi.

I use a D-Link external antenna and an extension cable right now, (which replaces the antenna on the desktop wireless card). The D-Link antenna is not a waterproof/outside antenna, so I have to stay in the Tucson area for the entire winter.
I have about $40 into the entire thing.
I have to bring the antenna inside the motor home when traveling, simply running the cable from the antenna through the slide out.
I plan a permanent solution, but the cost difference vs the hassle of setup has not worked itself out yet.

Don't overlook a "Wi-Fire" wi-fi signal booster antenna. Totally self contained, runs off the USB port on your laptop, and is under $100.00. It's directional (you point it toward the signal) and has a signal strength meter in the software that displays the signal strength of all the wireless signals in your area on the laptop screen which aids in pointing the antenna toward the strongest signal.Mine has functioned flawlessly for a year.
Try your laptop at home and see how many signals you get, then hook up the Wi-Fire antenna and you'll see that you're surrounded by your neighbor's wireless signals that your laptop antenna didn't even know existed.
