I'm in the process of setting up my coach with cell service in preperation for some extensive travel. I've decided to go with the wireless amplifier. I've been reading a lot and have found many answers here. A few questions remain:
Does the inner antenna need to be in the open or can it be in a closet? If it can go in a closet, does this interfere with signal strenth?Does the amplifier (Model #801245) have a DC to AC transformer or does it have to be pluged into AC? Does the exterior antenna require power as well as the amplifier? When using the wireless amp. is a cell phone adapter required? I think these last two questions the answers are no and no. However, logic has failed me before. Thank-you all in advance for the help.

you can locate an internal antenna in a closet. for that purpose, i'd suggest the dual band panel antenna.

remember that the two antennas must be at least 10 linear feet (not cable feet) apart from each other and that the panel must point away from external antenna, not towards. my customers typically locate omni spring base antenna on rear ladder frame and interior panel antenna 10ft forward, facing cab of RV.

the only thing that will require power is the 801245 itself, and there is no DC adapter, only AC.

the 801245 is a wireless amp/repeater, so no adapters are required to be attached to phones.

We have one and haven't had a lot of luck with ours. Recently I actually noticed a degradation of signal and elected to just rid our coach of the extra rf in the RV. The panel antenna that comes with these Wilson kits are intended for close range boosting. When I had our running I could not see a difference in cell signal unless I was within a few feet of the antenna. I did strap on our external antenna for the broadband card on to the panel antenna and noticed a big increase in signal. It's a lot of money for such little gain in respect to cell phones
