We normally have no cell phone service at our stixNbrix home. I purchased this unit from wpsantennas.com Wednesday past. In 2 minutes from connecting everything, we went from no service to 4 bars! Including AC adapter, total cost= $218, antenna is extra. It is designed to move from home to RV/auto easily. I talked online with a sales rep about a $400 unit, but he talked me into this model after hearing my situation. Now we're kicking ourselves for not buying one a long time ago.

Hi Ray,

We've been threatening to do the same sort of thing in our MH for all the times we've been places with no signal or just enough to start the conversation, but not to finish it. How frustrating!!

I'm looking at the web site you gave right now. Can you tell us what exactly you ended up with? That would help. Thanks.

1. Invoice says: M#811210 Signal Boost Dual Band 800/1900 (comes with 12V power supply cigar plug, and a Velcro attaching pad(passive link) for cordless phones without an external antenna port) This M# unit cannot be directly attached to a cordless phone. A different M# must be used if your phone has an external antenna port.

2. M#859903 Wilson Amplifier AC adapter
I already had/have a Wilson truckers magnetic-mount antenna. I helped a little, but I suppose surrounding trees grew taller, enough to block service. A Wilson external antenna is required to use the adapter.
This arrangement allows us to use it in the house or in any of our vehicles.
I talked- [on-line chat], then ordered by phone, mainly to see if I got the same advice, and_ because I am hesitant to put my CC numbers on the internet. Placed order on Monday afternoon, received about 9AM on Wednesday. 30-day satisfaction guarantee, 1 yr warranty.

If there is any doubt, we're sold on Wilson!

That's the same unit I bought a couple of years ago.
I had problems with the available adapters for my my Motorolla E815 phone and the one specified for my W385 just doesn't fit at all.
The flat plate output antenna on the M#811210 eliminates the need for an adapter.
It also works great on my aircard where it resides most of the time.

Down in Bouse AZ where we spend part of the winter it makes the difference between intermittent internet service and no problem service.

I don't need it often but when I do it has worked great!

I use a Wilson Trucker roof mount antenna mounted on the front cap of the coach with the amp.

We have the wilson 12 volt wireless unit in our motorhome as well but it will only kick us up one or two bars and sometimes we have to be in the same room as the unit. But even that little bit helps alot in some places we have been where we got no bars.

Lee, the man I spoke with (on-line chat) said the wireless models did not perform as well as direct-connect (best), or the velcro-attached passive (better).
