Winegard cable entry plate
I am in the process of installing a wifi ranger & was planning to replace the aluminum plate covering the roof conduit with a Winegard cable entry plate.
The Winegard plate has 10 mounting holes. Seems that 10 mounting holes & one cable/connector hole in a 4x4 area would turn that portion of the roof into swiss cheese. I assume that the reason for so many closely spaced mounting holes is to prevent the plastic plate from warping.
It appears that a similar winegard plate was used when the factory installed the winegard traveler on my coach, except it is the 4 cable version plate. As best I can tell there are only 4 mounting screws under the dicor on this plate.
Are 10 mounting screws really necessary? Has anyone experienced problems when only 4 mounting screws were installed?
