I was at CW today and while perusing the satellite department, I saw the Winegard Carryout. This is not the automatic portable dome, rather a manual dish in a case for less than $200. I'm considering it as a supplement to my kingdome. I frequently have difficulty acquiring a signal from my roof-mounted Kingdome (trees, usually) - and frankly, get kind of tired of looking for the most "open" site to park in hopes of accessing satellite.
I was wondering a couple of things about it.
Does anyone have one and if so, how do you like it? I'm no electronics wiz and look at all of those wires and mysterious components above my driver's seat with fear and disdain! But I'm willing to take it on! How do you hook the coax up to your receiver? Do I have to go through the driver's window straight to the receiver - or is there a better way?

in advance for your thoughts!

The Carryout MP1 works just the same as any single LNB tripod mounted antenna would. You open the case, turn it upside down and place the antenna and the bottom on the top you just removed. Now, using the pointing information provided by your receiver, you set the correct elevation for the dish and the base swivels inside the top. Once you get the signal you tighten down the center bolt and you are done. You do still need to get the base as level as possible and there are 3 option screw holes at allow you to buy some long bolts and use these as a tripod base. In most cases though you will do fine by just getting the base pretty close and using a signal meter to do the fine pointing.
As to getting the coax into the coach, the quickest and easiest way is to run it through a window and into the back of the receiver. You may also be able to use your existing coach "cable" connection and either add an A/B switch, add a diplexer or simply move the cable connection from the back of your video control center directly to the receiver.
