Does anyone have and had heard of the Winegard minimax satellite receiver, new in Sept 09. 15" high and 20" diameter. Are they OK. Thanks JC

The Mini-Max is the roof mounted version of the Carryout antenna. The "new in Sept. 09" version is the in-motion version of the Mini-Max. The stationary version has been around for almost a year.
This dome antenna suffers the same issues that all domes do in that they cannot see more than one satellite at a time (OK for DirecTV SD programming), it cannot ever pick up the DirecTV HDTV programming and it suffers somewhat in the rain or dew. It does get a higher signal strength than most domes due to the unique cone shaped antenna inside, however. It is a very inexpensive way to get a full automatic antenna and it does work very well.

We have a Trav'ler on our coach and we have sold and installed many of them. It is an excellent antenna if you can get pass the idea of having a dome. The Trav'ler will outperform every dome on the market and it can also receive the DirecTV HD programming that no dome on the market today ever will be able to do. The Trav'ler will also pick up all the necessary satellites at the same for DTV or Dish Network. DN user will not have to wait while the dome re-points to the various satellites.
I have not had a single complaint from any customer we have installed and we removed an in-motion dome from our coach to install the Trav'ler and we could not be happier.
