Cool Winegard RT400s Toggling Problem

I have a Wineguard Mission Satellite dish on my Class A RV. I have only used it 3 times since being installed but I think I have a problem. The Dish locks in on Channels and the sound and picture are great, the problem being it keeps on toggling back and forth. It only takes 1 second to toggle each direction and I never loose the picture or the sound and it does not change the station. The noise will drive you to ___*!.

I called Wineguard and the lady says this is normal while looking for station but I am not changing channels. They were very abrupt and told me to call someone locally about it. So much for Winegaurd support.

Any ideas?

my new winegard in motion satelite dish did that when I was parked sometimes it would move enough to actually lose the station and have to relock on. I got so tired of it that i went back to the dealer and had them install a winegard traveller it is a much better system.

Well I guess the problem is solved and it seems like an awfully easy fix. The solution is to turn on the dish when you get parked and let it lock on satellites. Then after checking your stations for reception " Turn the Satellite Dish Off". This stops it from moving back and forth for weather corrections. I am going to Tombstone soon for a Cowboy shoot and will check it for sure, it works well in the yard.

How long does the unit "hunt" for the satellite? It is quite normal for this unit to take 5 to 10 minutes to fully lock on and then settle down. Then when it toggles over to another satellite it will lock on instantaneously.

It seemed to continue to search for a better signal all night long even though it was locked on and picture and sound were great. These dishes are noisy inside the coach and even though it only moves a fraction of a frog's hair it is irritating. Turning it off after it locks worked great for 5 days and nights on last trip.
