Winegard rv2001 antenna

I recently purchased a 2003 sea breeze lx8311 and I can only get 2 tv stations, despite there being many more local stations. I am still using the Winegard antenna and conrol box that came with unit, and the original analog tv. I have a digital converter box between the selector (control) box and tv 1 which is the front analog tv. Even the two stations I get are very weak, going in and out. If I turn off the 12 volt power at the selector box, then I get no stations, which would seem to indicate antenna is powered. Is it possible that the antenna head is just "worn out" and the transistors are no good, or should I be looking elsewhere for problem? If it is just antenna head, can I replace the head with new version without a lot of problem? Any suggestions welcome. (TV 2 is a digital tv, and only gets same stations as TV 1)

Have you tried rotating the antenna in 45 degree increments and scanning as you go?
The direction the antenna is pointing is a lot more important than it was before the switch.

Are you expecting different answers with this post than one you already posted on this same topic? ;-)

Having said that, if it does come down to either a bad head or bad booster, both can be purchased at Camping World.

Sorry about the "double" post, I had meant to post to the national RV forum originally, took me a day to realize I had posted to a different forum. I had searched the forums for information, and must have started a thread while reading in this forum.
