I posted this question before but had no response.

Has anyone purchased and tested Wineguards new OTA signal meter? I would like to point my batwing before doing a channel search.

While we are a dealer, we are at the Winnebago/Itasca Travelers (WIT) rally in Forest City, IA. We are working for Winegard and we have installed about a dozen Sensar Pro units so far. They have been working very well and getting a good reading on the antenna BEFORE you have to do a channel scan is its biggest plus. It really pretty slick and it adds a secondary amplifier to the antenna. Should you be on the edge of a signal and no amount of pointing will keep it from pixalating you can turn up the gain a bit at a time to pull in that distant signal.

I forgot to mention that is you are using or want to use an Digital to Analog converter box the Sensar Pro makes the installation a snap and one box can be use to provide programming to both (all) TV's just like before.

For Bill.... Is there a version of that for us folks with the box of many buttons, what I call a "Flex Vision" for some reason? and if so what's the Damage$?

Two more things:

1: I rather like using 2 adapters and two DVR's and televisons, that way I can record/watch 2 shows at one time.

2: You happened to answer a bunch of questions I have about that thing already... Thanks.

Yes, it's not a version, it's just the Sensar Pro! It works great. You take the 12V power from the Video Control Center (Flex Vision) and use that for the Sensar Pro 12V power. You then remove the From Antenna connection from the box and connect this to the Antenna In connection in the Pro. Now you make up a coax jumper and connect the TV1 Pro connection right back to the From Antenna connection. Very cool.

Bill:
I have a Winegard 12 V booster that goes into a Winegard signal switching unit ( TV1,TV2, VCR etc.). Is the Sensar Pro installation a simple remove the old booster and install the new Sensar Pro? They look the same size and other than sensing the signal don't they do the same function?

Thanks again

This is what I did several months ago. Simply replaced the original Sensarpro with the new unit. Only difference is that the original had a 12V plug in available where as the new unit does not. The new unit works great and certainly simplifies setting the OTA for the maximum number of channels and best signal strength. Also has a built in beeper for signal strength. Now I can set the OTA by myself will the wife does other things.

There are slightly different setups required depending upon your setup. Most will require nothing more than possibly extending the 12V circuit and in almost all cases adding a coax jumper cable.
(Do you get a lot of around tuit jokes?)

Thanks for all the responses. It's a "go".

I've been famous since the "Get around Tuit" became popular.

Thanks again,
