Winegard Traveler, 'No LNB Voltage'

First trip in several months. Started our Winegard Traveler, it starts to raise, quickly stops and stows and display reads 'No LNB Voltage.'. Went to roof to check cables, connections.... all looked good. Check connectors on back of controller box, all looks good.

So, anyone have any ideas?

That's an error message meaning the device isn't seeing the 12-18V from the DirecTV receiver (or the Power Inserter in a SWM setup). I assume your receiver is on?

Make sure your power inserter is turned on. Although my Traveler doesn't need power from the inserter to the dish to get the dish to set , the communications module must be on to set the dish. Might have to reset the communications module.

Need nothing but the Winegard controller to power up and locate sat. No need for a receiver. So I assume you have a controller issue. Call Winegard for tech help.

I've always made that assumption but this is Winegard's explanation for that error message:

The TRAV’LER is not seeing the required 12-18VDC needed to power
the LNBF. Check the coax connections. If these are all connected
properly, contact Winegard Technical Support 1-(800) 788-4417.

Why would the coax connections matter if the receiver doesn't have to be operational? I don't think the Trav'ler's controller provides the LNB voltage, does it?

when you power the travler up, the congrol box supplies power to the LNB. It goes thru a preprogramed search and locks onto the correct satelite. Once it is locked on it internally switches from internal to coax voltage. Initial startup does not need a receiver box.

I dug out the op manual and read the error code description. I checked all my coax connections, including at the roof. Everything looks fine. Worked fine last time we used it and, IMO, coax connectors don't just come loose on their own. Receiver was on. I have the SWM model and everything is getting power, all LED's on.

I will be calling Winegard in the AM and hoping it is something they can ship to me quickly since we just started out on a trip.

UPDATE (for anyone with similar problem, something to check):

Called Winegard tech support and they wanted me to connect the mini coax coming from the LNB directly to the coax coming from the coach. This was to isolate the turret. When I disconnected Winegard's factory installed mini coax from the connection on the turret, it was so corroded that the center copper conductor had broken off and was sticking out of the connector on the turret. So, no wonder there was no voltage to the LNB.

Winegard quickly reminded me that my 2 1/2 year old Traveler was out of warranty so I would have to pay for a new mini coax ($30 plus shipping so not a big deal). I suggested that if they had used a bit of dielectric grease when they installed that fitting, this may not have occurred. I pointed out that the coax fitting that I installed was pristine when I removed it.

So, this is something folks may want to check if they have this particular issue.
