Winegard Travler SK34 Auto stow ???

Just wondering how many have purchased and had installed the Winegard sk34 auto sow cable? Can anyone tell me why they engineered this useless overpriced wire? It cost me $50 and does nothing unless you are have 110 volts ac connected he the unit it wont stow.

Was not the idea of this wire to be a fail safe so if you turn he key on or hit the brake it would stow?

Called customer service and they say you need the unit to be powered on by ac to have he auto stow work. How do i know this I installed it. Mind you I am an ASE master Auto and truck Mechanic and I understand 12 volt circuits.
How many of you have a generator running or connected to shore power when you start your rig?

Thanks

Chuck

I sure don't have my generator running most of the time when I start my rig... nor am I connected to shore power. Does your rig have an inverter to provide AC to selected outlets?

sure i have an inverter but my problem is this for the unit to stow it has to be on and powered by 120 volts then if it see 12 volts on the sk34 it will stow as long as its still powered by 120 volts!!! So why spend $50 for a fail safe that is not a fail safe. who has 120 volts at the recepticles 24/7 ??

I got it and understand your frustration. I'm probably a little weird but I don't recall ever turning off my inverter.... but I never boondock either.

Best of luck.
