Winegard X2 stops turning

So as usual, I shut down the generator (at home) and let the coach go back to shore power and the Dish receiver does the oh my god I lost power and must rescan drill. Winegard Pathway X2 starts turning and then stops and I hear a lot of motor sound but no rotation. I go out and give it a little twist and it starts rotating again until it gets to a certain position and just starts spinning it wheels again.
It has worked flawlessly until today. Had it for a little over a year.
It gets rained on and lawn sprinklered on which shouldn't be a big deal.

So do you think it has stripped a gear? Does it have gears or rubber rollers inside.
Winegard is closed for the holidays, so I probably can't call them until Tuesday.

I guess I should take it apart and see what's inside.

Yeah, it sounds to me like you've stripped the ring gear. Since it sounds like you can fix it yourself if you can take it apart, hopefully they'll sell you just the ring.

Oh my gosh, a response!

Actually, I took the bottom off and the ring nylon ring gear and the brass drive gear both looked good. But, I found a leaf in there. A dried up oak leaf. Cleaned it out, put it back together, and now it seems to work fine.

I guess that leaf bound it up somehow.

Took me a few minutes to figure out which holes on the ring gear went with the holes on the base. Next time I'll mark them as I take it apart.
