The way the wingman mounts, it uses existing holes in the bottom of the batwing amplifier housing its attachment. The wingman is mounted in this way to guide the signal to the amplifier making it highly directional. I doubt that the wingman would work on another antenna unless it is specifically designated to do so.

I will second what RJ said... The wingman is designed to match holes already in the Sensar II. Now, if the "Alternate" antenna is of the same general design.. And if you are confident you can drill the needed holes without damaging anything inside ... Perhaps.. But you'd need to take very careful measurements FIRST.

I once considered buying a Wingman, but after reading many posts from owners decided it was not worth the expense, time, and effort.

Someone did a test on one website, they used an industrial strength meter and found that it did increase the signal strength significantly and concluded that it was worth the money. Since it mounts with almost no effort it's worth it to most people.

Can you please supply a link to the test and results?

I found the wingman to be a super easy intall, inexpensive and it improved my TV reception.
The only con I can think of it is more directional now than before.
Well worth it IMHO.

I really dont think it will work on other brands of antennas though.

That was me, and I have never seen a negative post on the Wingman where there was a realistic expectation of it's performance. It absolutely does what they claim. One thing I want to do is run the batwing/ wingman combo up against a Jack one day.

The Winegard Wingman is designed to help with UHF reception only. (Upper channels)

That's because ~75% of digital TV signals are being broadcast in the UHF band and the Sensar antenna was optimized primarily for VHF signals.

Thank you Jeff for publishing your test results. I have read many posts saying they didn't think it worth the money. Your results are proof enough for me. I'm going to buy one.
I once considered the Jack antenna but after reading the specs, decided to stay with the present antenna. I await your test results for that. Thanks again.

I'm trying to either find one for sale local that I can test and return, or someone in the area that is installing a Jack. So far no soap... :(

We've installed the Wingman on our last 2 Monacos that have Concorde Series 90 antennas. We use wire ties to hold them on. This is one of the easiest and cheapest improvements made to our MHs. The wing man doubles the # of stations we get.
