Winegard Directv dish

Feb of 2017 I purchased a winguard directv for my coach. I bought it from camping world for about $1,600.00 and spent another $300.00 to have it installed. It worked great last year with no problems. After getting the coach out for a trip to Yellowstone for 30 day trip I did a test on the dish to make sure it worked. It did not. When turning on the unit aims straight up and turns a couple of times and then stowed itself. The box inside says no voltage to LNB. I have called winguard and the first time was told the cable from the LNB to the base was bad. I replaced it and it still doesn't work. The second time calling winguard they said the LNB was bad. I have called my directv for service and to buy a new LNB. I was told they can't sell me a LNB and they can't work on my system. The people at Camping world have been no help in getting the fixed. Any help in getting this repaired would be appreciated.

Yup, my motor died and waiting till tomorrow to get it replaced. Still under warranty so I guess it’s ok. Currently in Chehalis, WA and no direct tv for last week due to motor failure. Not impressed with this system at all.

If my old MotoSat HD dish ever dies I'll replace it with an RF Mogul one. Much sturdier and I don't see many reports of problems.

I think I need 110v AC to my coach for TV HD dish to operate correctly. I either start the generator or I'm plugged in to 110v AC. I have never had a problem. Also, I think I have always had the sat receiver hooked up and powered ON. The LNB voltage comes from either the sat receiver or a 110v to 21v power converter supplied with the Winegard. My memory may not be 100% but this is what I recall.

With SWM, the LNB voltage usually comes from the power inserter. With the new Genie II I believe the power inserter is part of the receiver.
