Does anyone know if there is a product that will boost/amplify the wireless signal whe using a USB wireless modem?

I am using a Verizon UM150 modem and most times get good 2-4 bar Broadband signal. Every once in a while it drops to the National network, as low a 1 bar, even though I haven't moved.

John most people with your problem solved it with some external stuff.

Check THIS

You may not need the more expensive router shown. Consider the Cradlepoint 350. I have one and it is just great.

Also check THIS-ONE...it maybe what you need.

Also check with Justme13 (Steve) as he just did a similar thing but at a lower cost.

we were in SD for a few months and had a weak signal from Verizon on occasion. I bought an adapter from the 3G Store and hooked the aircard up to my Wilson trucker antenna and had a full bars (5? 6?) signal. It really worked well.

I think the main issue is to have a modem that supports an external antenna. If you have that, then there are a number of options for passive omni-directional antennas with better gain numbers, either inside the coach or outside. I also agree, the cradlepoint 350 router is a gem.

John,
I use an external antenna with my USB 727 modem. Works great!

the UM150 has an rf/antenna jack on its backside, under a rubber plug. this link will show you a photo of the jack with adapter cable attached.

company i work for sells and supports a complete line of high-gain antennas and amps/repeaters that will allow you to connect to distant towers that you can't connect to now, with just UM150's telescopic antenna.
