Wirelesstv2

I recently installed direct tv in the coach. I want to watch direct tv in the bedroom (or patio) and purchased the wirelesstv2 by Actiontec.. I can't get the darn thing to work.

I have the DVR and media computer/blu ray connecting to the A/V receiver via hdmi. The signal out from the receiver is split to the main tv and a hd projector.

If the wirelesstv2 is installed at the Direct TV DVR, it works great sending the video and audio signals to the bedroom, but the main tv is a funky color and no sound.
If I install the wirelesstv2 transmitter at the splitter, after the receiver, I can transmit the video, but not the sound. Other devices on the splitter work fine.

Has anyone tried to do this, and how did you overcome this problem?

I guess I don't understand why you didn't simply get a Genie HR44 or HR54 in the living area along with a Wireless Video Bridge to send the signal to a C41W wireless miniGenie. I'm currently using the Video Bridge to send the signal to our "Arizona Room" and it works even better than I expected. No dropouts and no problems connecting.

Direct tv only allows one genie per account. I am ok with having only one video source in the motorhome, but I would like to enjoy programming at both ends of the coach. The genie stays in the s&b, the dvr comes with me in the motorhome.

I take the Genie (HR44), video bridge, and wireless mini genie with me in the rig. You can have more than one wireless mini genie. Works great.

I installed an HDMI splitter and ran a second HDMI cable to the bedroom TV. You are not supposed to exceed 50' with HDMI, but some of the higher quality cables will work out to 60'.

Thanks for the replies. Support from Actiontec proved to be worthless, so that mistake goes into the garbage can.

Can't take the genie from the house,.. nope, not going to happen. Sure would be the easiest solution though.

Satellite guy says he doesn't have experience with any wireless transmitters, but in my situation he recommends either pulling a coax and settle for SD, or pull a quality HDMI if I want HD and use a splittter. Moot point cuz I don't know HOW I would pull any cable back to the bedroom.

Ahh, you must have someone at home that needs the Genie. I can see where that would be a limiting factor.
