Wiring a Winegard G2 to existing connections

in a 2005 Country Coach.

The Country Coach has a KVH dome which is not working so I want to connect the Carryout G2 into the cable lines that are in the coach. I only have an outside "Cable" connection...Can I connect the Carryout G2 to the "Cable connecter and switch the Winegard control panel to Cable for the 2 TV's and be able get the G2 signal though the existing wiring in th coach?

Thanks for all the answers to my other questions...

Received the Winegard G2 yesterday and

the literature states that the G2 has to be direct connected to the receiver and not go through the Winegard entertainment system. I guess I can't hook it up through the outside cable connection and try to trick it into thinking it is the Sat connection. Now I have to find a way to run cables for the 2 TV's from an outside connection to the receivers since I have no outside SAT connection..

nkgunner;

I would try it before tearing into your rig. You might just get lucky!

I have run several Direct TV dishes through various connectors on different RV's and have had good luck.

I would check to see if you have a splitter/amplifier somewhere in the cable coax run. A lot of coaches have one that may be marked as an amplifier with a push button switch. You can bypass this amplifier with a simple coax connector and that may work. If you still want to use the amplifier some of the time, a simple A/B switch will let you select cable or satellite.

I figured it out and it is working..

I ran the coaxial cable from the KVH roof dome satellite to the (A) side of an A/B switch before it would go into the VS. I traced the coaxial cable from the outside cable connection to the video distribution switch and put a splitter before the cable connected to the VS. (I will connect the cable to the VS and see if that will work but I have no need to connect to campground cable.)

I now have the Coaxial cable from the Winegard G2 portable plugged into the outside cable port and it connects to the “Out” of the splitter and then runs in the (B) side of the A/B switch. The “IN” port on the A/B connects to the DirecTV receiver. When I want to use the KVH roof dome, I push “A” on the switch and it works well. If I use the G2 I push the “B” switch and it connects as well.

Thank you to all that answered the posts while I was fighting through this.
