I'd like to replace the Magnedyne radio/cassette deck in my '03 Southwind with something that can accept iPod and satellite radio inputs, and maybe have a CD player; haven't seen a cassette in years. It appears to be a single DIN unit, and there's a reasonable amount of space behind it. Crutchfield doesn't carry a wiring harness adapter for the coach harness (which I suspect is generic GM for the vintage, since the rest of the dash appears to be GM truck stuff). I could dope out the connections and wire direct, it's not that big a deal, but I'd really prefer to find a plug to match the one in the coach and make up a pigtail adapter. Anybody have a line on a matching plug? Also, any recommendations for replacement radios?

thanks in advance

If it's like the Magnadyne in my 05 Simba (sold), it was a DIN and a half....1.5 DIN. I replaced it with a single DIN with an adapter plate to fill the gap top and bottom. I found that the Magnadyne was wired to another harness behind it, which had all the wires marked, then plugged into the coach harness. So I just unplugged from coach, cut it off the Magnadyne harness, then wired the new deck harness to the old harness on the bench....made for much less time on my back in the RV for the install. (obviously yours may be different....just my experience here)

When I replaced the Magnadyne in my '02 Brave, I couldn't find a adapter harness. Had to take the two ends and splice them together. Was not a big deal as I had wiring diagrams for both. Just took a little time, patience and a good soldering iron.
