we bought the camper 2 yrs ago this fall.It is a 36 foot Holiday Rambler Fifth wheel Presedential, quad slide. We have had the camper in for the fridge 3-4 times a yr since bought due to fridge flashing "no co" on panel board and not running. It is even known to stop going down the road. Allt hey want to do is flash the board and i dont think thats fixing the problem. We are leaving for the beach on saturday, and again it kept shuting off in last 2 days, then this evening, checked it, and its flashing "no co" again, and from what we have been told, 2 times re setting this ourselves and it has to be brought back in. Its on warranty for about another 2 yrs but I am fed up. Anyone else have this problem?

Forgot to mention, we just got back from camping on sunday and have had it plugged into household electric, which it ran maybe monday some, then started acting up. When it has done this before it wouldnt work on gas or electric so i assume its the same. I am ready to insist they replace this stupid thing.

tammyinwv, there has to be a reason for the control board not to sense that the unit is not cooling properly within the 2-3 hours time span given. Have they checked to be sure there is nothing blocking the venting up the back of the unit? If it has fans (depends on the model you have) are they coming on? Is the refrigerator level when parked? What source of energy are you using when it fails - electric or gas? Give us your model number and I can be of a little more help or ask if the repair shop has called Norcold for technical assistance.

I have the exact same model and year 5er and had the exact same problem. I finally replace the control board and all is well. Doing the reset is not a cure and only allowed the fridge to run til the next time power source changed. I don't know the cost of the board for sure because it was replaced under our extended warranty, but I think it was close to $100.

How many times did you have to take it to be reset before they decided to replace it. I think mine is still covered till about August next yr. We have about an hr drive to the dealer for reset. Its rediculous. I have heard from one other person theirs was the same way.

Well just got off the phone with dealer. He contacted Monaco and Norcold since we have had it in numerous times for the same thing. Norcold INSISTS there is no recall,a dn it is not the board and they are NOT replacing it. Said to bring it in to dealer for re set. Norcold said that there is a vent problem in the back and that WE can build or have someone build some kind of metal baffle or somethign to fix the problem even tho fridge is still under warranty till August of next yr. They are trying to say it is overheating, well we had it plugged into electric at home for 2-3 days before leaving for camping, then camped for 4 days without one problem. I think if it was overheating, it would have done it before then. When we got back it started shutting off the next day, even tho sitting level in driveway and plugged into electric. Flashing No CO. There has got to be some legal recourse for this, because I feel they are just leading me on, dragging us and the camper in on a 2 hr drive several times a yr till the warranty runs out.

The model number 12 1200LR
It has failed going down the road on propane, and when plugged into electric at the house. Husband seems to think it may be EXTRA sensitive for levelness, and maybe that was the problem, rather than the over heating and needign a baffle that warranty wont cover. We had a Dometic in our old Terry for 8 yrs, not one problem. Dont think I will ever buy another camper again with a Norcold, and prob not a Monaco either since they didnt seem to want to do anything but a reset to begin with when still under their warranty.

Ours is same model fridge too. They finally taught us to do the reset ourselves. After about two months I stomped my feet a couple times and the next thing I knew we had a board in the mail. I replaced it myself one wire at a time and have had no more problems since. But I gotta tell you, it was not replaced my Monaco. My dealer provided the part and the extended warrany paid for it.

I know this dealer, they wouldnt even pay for the repairman's fee to come to us at campground the first time out with new camper and no fridge. And we were an hr away from enarest shop. Did they show you the reset method with the shorting of pin#15 as detailed in the forum?

Just came back from dealer. They looked at fridge and decided it didnt need the shield or baffle, but they did re set the fridge and they had lost some of their paper work, so had Norcold fax it over on how to do the re set. They showed me it was a "Service Bullitin" on this hard re-set, so must be a particular problem they dont want to own up to. The re-set was just as described here with shorting the # 15 wire. This was just as described in their bullitin from Norcold. The tech didnt know if there was a limit on how many times this could be done as someone on here stated they were told after so many times it would fry the computer, so we are going to call norcold to be sure. But as it stands, all they did was the re set and still nothing to fix the problem.

Also forgot an important point. On the Bulletin from Norcold it states that if the individual does it, it may void the factory warranty, but the tech said they would have no way of knowing. But I am not so sure it would be worth it if you still have warranty left. Which dealer said we had 2 yrs and it will be up in August of 06.

If you are having to constantly reset the refrigerator due to the no-co code, the odds are, since yours is a new unit, that it was installed missing some baffle parts or is a fault in the cooling unit itself, or missing parts in the venting system. I just went through the same problem with my new 2005 Journey. In addition to the no-co codes, it just wouldn't cool down below about 42 - 45 degrees in the refrigerator part. In the end, the dealer pulled the entire unit out and replaced it. Upon removal, they discovered that it was missing parts in the venting and baffles. The new one has been great.
The old one was a 1201LRIMSS made 4/12/05 and installed in May 05 when the coach was manufactured. The replacement one was a 1201LRIMSS made 12/15/05. There is clearly a difference in the two units, for one I can hear the fans that run on the new one, where as I never heard them on the older one.
We too, had a 35 mile trip each way to have it worked on four times. I think the dealer was just as fustrated with the problem as we were.
Good luck on getting a resolution.
