'06 Discovery Roof Top AC Not Working

I have an '06 Fleetwood Discovery 39S and just noticed this morning that the rear AC unit is not running even though it is on at the thermostat. The front AC unit is working fine.

Trying to run only the rear AC unit I hear nothing at all. Checked the breakers and everything is on.

Any thoughts on what the issue might be?

Thanks,

Mike

Are all the rest of the rear 120v outlets working? Some time ago, one leg of my surge guard quit working and I only had power to half the coach.

Pcurt,

Yes everything in the rear of the coach is working and I also checked the GFI outlets as well. Weird it won't turn on in AC or Fan mode which is strange!

Any other thoughts?

Pcurt,

I just happen to check my washing machine and it doesn't have power! Sounds like something blew.

Any thoughts?

Hi Mike,
Did you try to run just the fan? If that doesn't run then I would think it is either the thermostat or a breaker. On my 06 I was having problems with the air conditioners, the refrigerator and thermostat. The thermostat was running wild showing all dashes where the amount of current used is supposed to be, and blinking lights where the in coming power display is . The air conditioners would running on fan only, and the refrigerator would not run on electricity.

I opened the breaker box located under the bed on my coach , and tightened all of the wire connectors. Two of them were surprisingly loose. That fixed the refrigerator. Then I removed the 12 volt fuses and checked them. They all looked OK and checked out OK with the multimeter, but one looked corroded inside where the small blow wire is connected to the spades so I replaced it. That solved the thermostat and air conditioner problems.

Now all is working as designed.
You might try the Discovery Owners site for other suggestions from some VERY knowledgeable people.

Keep us posted on how your problem goes. Good Luck

Bigd9,

Thanks for the info. Not sure if you saw my post but I just found out that the washer/dry does not have power either.

I did check the breakers and the fuses by my rear bed and everything looks fine.

Are there any other fuses I should check that I might be missing?

Thanks for your help.

You may have lost one line. If the WD and rear ac operate off the same line , check other items that are on that line as well.

Are you at a CG ? If so , have them check their connection at the pole.

Folks,

Thanks for your help. I just spoke to the people in the site next to me and they are without power. I think the electrical on my site is also partially affected.

Appreciate your assistance.

Sorry I missed that post. I've been under the Discovery installing the M&G Engineering Toad Braking system. Trying hard to get completely ready for the Discovery Rally in Wyoming 30 days from now.

I see by the other post that the campground power is having problems. I would do like others have suggested. Disconnect from campground power immediately and fire up the generator. Earlier this year (our very first trip in this coach) we plugged into a campground that evidently was having power problems. Our site power had an open neutral fault and that literally blew out the washer/dryer surge protector and main circuit board plus the front TV. Little over $1000 in parts alone! Plus the smoke and smell inside was sicking.

Sounds like you have some park power problems. To answer your question There are other breakers on the inverter in the electrical bay. Mine are on the side and hard to see. They however, affect power in the front of the coach. At least mine do. The older my coach gets the less relevant my knowledge base becomes.

Your 50 amp circuit works on two legs. You need both legs to be working to get full power to the coach. The suggestion to run the genny is a good one. You should also have power protection.
