Our 30' Dutchmen has a converter. Shore power feeds the converter where it is distributed to 12V lights etc, and to AC and 110V outlets. It also (supposedly) charges the 12V deep cycle battery on the tongue frame. The battery is new. There are 4 wires comming out of the frame to the batterey...2 red and 2 black.
When shore power is disconnected, nothing works except the electric hitch jack...
Does anybody have any ideas where to start looking? I'd like to get 12V back to the lights and furnace so we can boondock...I've not found any "obvious" 12V line fuse - I'll keep looking.
Any other ideas?

The converter relay may be bad, it's part of the converter.

It's purpose is to switch battery DC to the coach's DC circuits when the converter no longer is producing it or in other words when shore power is removed.

Sounds like your camper power switch (house power) is off. These switches activate a solenoid (you should hear it click) that allows 12vdc from the battery to come into the camper (house). The switch is often located near the entry step, door, or sometimes in the galley area, like on wall near the stove. If you can't find that house power switch, you're going to have to call the manufacturer or trace the red & black wires back yourself.
Do you have a multimeter? Check your battery volts after being off shore power for an hour...

Check to be sure the fuses or circuit breakes near the battery are not blown or tripped. Also be sure you have a good ground connection to the frame. Check the main fuse in the converter and/or 12 volt distribution panel. Good luck and let us know the outcome.
