Anyone have any feedback on the 12 volt cookware advertised in some camping publications? I am interested in the crock pot. Our new TT will have 2 solar panels, so I don't think the drain should be too much. We primarily dry camp and this product is of great interest. Thanks in advance.

I have not seen the products, but whether the appliances are 12 vdc or 115 vdc, it takes power to cook stuff. It's power (wattes = volts x amps) that creates heat. Assuming that the crock pot delivered enough heat to actually cook something, it would most likely run your batteries down. I think you're better off using a stove top pot of some type and cooking with propane.

We have dry camped for about ten years, and I cook solely on the fire all meals, twice I used the oven during torrential rainstorms. I was thinking of the crock pot as our on order TT will have the solar panels. I still haven't figured out how much the two panels will charge etc. I am alittle dense in absorbing the solar information.
Thanks for the feedback on the CP, I will stick to fire

Hopefully this website will provide some information to help with your questions. We have no less than 3 12VDC coffee makers and they all take about 30 minutes to brew using the truck accessory plug. Stovetop is much faster and efficient.12V appliances

Ray, Thanks for the link, it is quite helpful.
Kay, I thought the 21V would not drain as much as the house CP which I use daily.
