Anyone have any feedback on the 12 volt cookware advertised in some camping publications? I am interested in the crock pot. Our new TT will have 2 solar panels, so I don't think the drain should be too much. We primarily dry camp and this product is of great interest. Thanks in advance.

I have not seen the products, but whether the appliances are 12 vdc or 115 vdc, it takes power to cook stuff. It's power (wattes = volts x amps) that creates heat. Assuming that the crock pot delivered enough heat to actually cook something, it would most likely run your batteries down. I think you're better off using a stove top pot of some type and cooking with propane.

We have dry camped for about ten years, and I cook solely on the fire all meals, twice I used the oven during torrential rainstorms. I was thinking of the crock pot as our on order TT will have the solar panels. I still haven't figured out how much the two panels will charge etc. I am alittle dense in absorbing the solar information.
Thanks for the feedback on the CP, I will stick to fire

Hopefully this website will provide some information to help with your questions. We have no less than 3 12VDC coffee makers and they all take about 30 minutes to brew using the truck accessory plug. Stovetop is much faster and efficient.12V appliances

Kay, I thought the 21V would not drain as much as the house CP which I use daily.
